Jacobs new toy...
Jacob's new server arrived today - exact same as mine (minus the ASM Card)!
an IBM x345 with serveraid 5i

We just bunged 6 15k disks in, setup a RAID 5 and installed ESX server, it will join our "Virtual Infrastructure" Soon :D
a-gent.co.uk Online Services
Well finally all of the a-gent.co.uk online services are returned to full operational state.

Exchange Server has been fully restored - send, receive, direct push and web access are fully working as well as native outlook connection over the internet.

User and admininstrative logons to www.a-gent.co.uk and dev.a-gent.co.uk have been restored.

All fixes are mainly due to the relocation of the domain controller for a-gent.co.uk being resited to the same physical network as RELOADED (Exchange 2007 Ent)and REVOLUTION (MOSS 07 Ent/ SQL 08 Ent)

This allows lookups and logons to be authenticated (particularly important for exchange and also for logons on web sites).
But also for secure SSL services to be properly signed by our secure certificate authority.

If you need the a-gent.co.uk root certificate it can be found here.
Training bike - terminal.
This happened a few weeks ago but I have yet to get around to blogging about it! Basically my training frame has cracked where the downtube meets the headtube! I thought it was a bit wobbly out the saddle up that climb.. Might have had something to do with that van I almost rear ended when it emergency stopped in front of me..!
ESX Server
So the install on my big server is almost done (IBM x345).
A nice new RAID 5 setup (6 x 73.4gb SCSI) nice and redundant and ready for its new home in BlueSquare London.

I have also installed ESX server on it, which is a wonderful pie ce of software - easy to manage once set up and so fast and reliable - uptime is literally as long as you leave the server plugged in!

The server is currently in the rack in jacob's kitchen!

And is currently hosting this website and exchange mail services.

It will be moving to BlueSquare within the next month

Another new blog...
OK so 3rd incarnation of the a-gent.co.uk blog after the application server (and new build) refused to connect to the old configuration database to connect and rebuild the server farm...

Ah well...who needed all those hours of content painstakingly added....
